Language Arts serves as the basis for learning in every other subject. The ability to communicate through reading, writing, listening, and speaking is the core of human experience. There are new technologies that connect us even more quickly than before. It is imperative that students develop communication skills that are effective and safe. The landscape for language is changing and evolving quickly with each generation of young people, music, and platforms like YouTube, Twitter, and SnapChat. This year, students will develop skills designed for career and educational success. This class will help students set goals while they engage in this essential discipline.
Did you know. . .?
We sleep about 8 hours each day. That is equivalent to four months per year! Now, think about how many hours people use phones or other screens. How many days are left? I posted this question over a year ago, out of concern for how much students look at their phones, not knowing how our lives would become dependent on Zoom and evermore, the Internet. Now, I wonder how students are managing screen time. |
